Some of you may know that my wife Luisa ran a marathon a few weeks ago. When she decided to run it at the Grand Canyon, I decided that we were going to make a wonderful, long and adventurous trip out of it. We drove (from Boise, ID) the entire way and had the time of our lives. We stopped in Zion National Park, Page AZ, the Grand Canyon, Arches National Park and Canyonlands in Moab. We had the greatest two weeks on the road.
Now I don’t claim to be a landscape photographer by any means. I just really enjoy being in beautiful places, and love taking photos while I’m there.
The trip started in Zion National Park
I did a few hikes while at Zion’s (Angels Landing, Hidden Canyon, and a few others) but my favorite hike I did while I was there was called The Subway. It was a 10 mile roundtrip hike up and back down a river. Seeing the photos it’s easy to tell why they call it the “Subway”.
Antelope Canyon in Page AZ. In my opinion, one of the most beautiful places on Earth.
Finally the Grand Canyon. Crazy enough, I actually didn’t take a ton of photos here. My parents came out to surprise and support Luisa on her Marathon. She did amazing! So proud of her! You can get a full update of her trip on her blog post here.
Arches National Park and Canyonlands:
Taken on our last day. I love how Jace is just staring blank at the camera like he’s saying “Please help, my parents are crazy.”
